WHAT WE DO
Practical preparation.
Clearer next steps.
We focus on practical capability. Assessments look at the work itself — how candidates handle tasks, follow instructions, use tools and work safely.
Practical skills assessments
Structured one- or two-day practical sessions, depending on the trade and scope, with a documented assessment outcome.
Targeted gap training
Receive clear feedback on areas for improvement. Where appropriate, choose focused, non-accredited practical training before reassessment.
Employer connections
With separate consent, suitable candidates may be considered for introductions to participating employers. Employers always decide whom to hire.
THE PROCESS
Know where you stand.
Know what comes next.
Built for clarity, not complexity. Each stage is explained before you commit to a paid service.
01
Tell us your trade
Send an enquiry with your trade, location and qualification background. We discuss scope and availability.
02
Book a practical assessment
We outline what will be assessed, expected duration, available location and a private written fee quote.
03
Receive your outcome
Demonstrate practical skills through structured tasks. Receive a readiness outcome or detailed gap report.
04
Choose your next step
Optional targeted gap training and reassessment, with possible employer introductions only where appropriate and permitted.
Assessment timeframes vary. A one-day or two-day format may be available depending on trade, candidate needs and location. An enquiry is not a booking or eligibility decision.
TRADE COVERAGE
Your trade.
Your next move.
Tell us what you do and where you’re based. We confirm assessment availability and requirements individually. Additional trades can be added progressively.

Something else?
Trade coverage and appointment availability are assessed case by case. Displaying a trade is not confirmation that sessions are currently available in every state.

GOOD TO KNOW
Questions,
answered.
Is this an official TRA or Job Ready Program assessment?
No. Australian Trade Readiness provides a separate, independent practical job-readiness service. It is not Trades Recognition Australia, is not authorised to determine your JRP eligibility, and does not issue official TRA skills assessments. See TRA’s official website for government program information.
Do I need to have completed my qualification?
The principal practical-readiness assessment pathway is intended for people who have completed a relevant trade qualification. You may enquire earlier, but we will explain which services, if any, are appropriate. We do not determine TRA or visa eligibility.
How long does the assessment take?
Practical assessments may take one or two days depending on the trade, tasks, assessor requirements and location. We confirm the scope and format before booking.
How much does it cost?
We provide a written quotation privately once we understand your trade, location and intended service. An initial enquiry does not require payment. Any optional gap training is quoted separately and requires agreement before commencement.
Will you find me a job?
There is no guarantee of employment, interviews or employer introductions. With your consent, and subject to applicable laws, appropriate candidates may be considered for introductions. Employers make independent recruitment decisions. Fees are for readiness services, not jobs.
Can employers register from anywhere in Australia?
Yes. The employer form accepts enquiries from every Australian state and territory. Registering interest does not mean an active hiring or placement service is available in every jurisdiction.
Will I receive a nationally recognised qualification?
Not through this independent readiness service. Any practical gap training described here is non-accredited unless separately and explicitly provided by a registered training organisation under an appropriate agreement.
Are bakery and patisserie available now?
These are potential future categories. You can register interest, but assessment availability and scope have not been confirmed for those trades.
